First, you insert a thin section of hair into the center channel, where strand guards hold it taut.
As the hair passes over the curved hair plate, only the very tips where split ends usually form are exposed.
A rotating blade then trims just those tips (between 1/8" to 1/4"), leaving the rest of your strand untouched and your length preserved.
The cut ends are collected in a compartment for easy cleanup, leaving your hair smoother, healthier, and free of frayed ends.
